A new permanent rehabilitation facility in Ostend, Belgium

The Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre Ostend (VZW Opvangcentrum voor vogels en wildle dieren Oostende) will be moved to a brand new rehabilitation centre in one year and a half. The construction of the new centre, which will be built in two phases, started on 18th April 2007!

The new centre will be located just outside the city of Oostende, in a recreational park. The total cost for the first part is 1.5 million €, co-financed by the government, mainly by the Oostende authorities. The first phase of the project includes the building with the equipped wildlife hospital and the visitors centre. This should be finished in about 14 months. The second phase of the project includes building the outside cages and pools for the seabirds.
